Helping companies with their journey to become a B Corp

Starting with an initial assessment to get a Baseline/Aspirational Score in the Impact Assessment (BIA) & open the SDG Action Manager tool

What is a B Corp?

B Corp Certification is the only certification that measures a company’s entire social and environmental performance. Certified B Corporations achieve a minimum verified score on the B Impact Assessment, proving their business is meeting the highest standards of verified performance. B Corp Certification doesn’t just prove where a company excels now—it commits them to consider stakeholder impact for the long term by building it into a company’s legal structure.

B Corp certification applies rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. (B Corp Certification is administered by the non-profit B Lab.)

How do we help?

by providing 1-2-1 sessions over the course of 5-6 weeks, comprising of a weekly video call, taking you through this rigorous assessment by section to see what makes sense for your business and providing guidance on what B lab are looking for. We save you time and add value to the process.

We also ensure everything makes sense to your business and the way it operates, only implementing changes that are good for all your stakeholders.

With a focus on the areas you can improve easily and look at how to start the change in those that may take some time.

And we provide an introduction session for your team to engage everyone in the process, promoting engagement, fairness and transparency.

Impact assessment

We really get you to think about the beating heart of your business.

Using this BIA tool which is divided into 5 categories; Governance, Workers, Community, Environment and Customers, to consider what you do for all your stakeholders and how your business operations affect them.

Points are allocated for your answers with a minimum of 80 needed to pass! Every point is hard won. The points are weighted to the positivity of the impact your actions and policies deliver.

To apply for B Corp certification you need to be operating for a year or more, as it’s based on the verified practices and policies of a company over the past year. But don’t worry if you are a start-up, B Corp recognises that some Founders want to start as they mean to go on and have introduced B Corp Pending, for companies wanting to commit to a responsible business model from the outset.

It’s been a pleasure to work with you Jo to get a clearer understanding of the B Corp movement and expectations and to break down into smaller bite sized chunks what can be done to work towards a more ethical business model.Osborne Pike, Alexia Mihranian, Director.

Really chuffed to say that as of 24th Dec 2022 Supple Studio became a certified B Corporation (or B Corp if you’re in the know). We’re joining a growing group of companies reinventing business by pursuing purpose as well as profit. It’s been a great journey getting here and one only made possible by the guidance and sage advice of Jo Lord.

Massive thanks Jo
